Lall's 34 points leads No. 4 Badgers past Warriors

For the second time this season, Tajinder Lall scored a season-high 34 points to lead the No. 4 Brock men's basketball team to an 87-72 win over the Warriors in Waterloo on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Brock defeated Waterloo in St. Catharines by an identical score, 87-72, three days prior.

The 6-foot-6 Lall filled the scoresheet with nine rebounds, four blocks, a steal, and recorded a .632 shooting percentage (12-of-19).

Brock boosted its record to 11-1 as the Badgers enjoy one of the best regular-season campaigns in program history. Brock is first in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) in total points (1103) and points per game (91.9).

The Badgers are also shooting three-pointers at a conference-high 39 per cent.

Against Waterloo, Daniel Caldwell hit a bucket with a second left on the clock to tie the first quarter 17-17. Brock took over from there by going on a 16-5 run through the second.

Kascius Small-Martin scored 17 points, and Jesse Barnes scored 10.

Barnes and Caldwell each captured six boards. Caldwell connected on all of his shots, including a free throw, in 16 minutes of play off the bench. Jordan Tchuente chipped in eight points.

Brock shot 45.5 per cent (30-of-66) while limiting Waterloo to 36.1 per cent (22-of-61). The Badgers also outrebounded the Warriors 36-28.

Next, the Badgers (11-1) take on the Western Mustangs (6-6) on Wednesday, March 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets must be pre-purchased on University Tickets.
