The No. 4 Brock men's basketball team posted its fifth 100-plus point game of the season with a 105-75 win over the Algoma Thunderbirds at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday, March 4.
The event was also Brock's Pride Game in conjunction with the Brock Student Justice Centre (SJC) to celebrate education, advocacy and equity.
The Badgers lead all of U SPORTS in scoring with 94.1 points per game and have the most wins in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) with a record of 13-1.
Tajinder Lall and Kascius Small-Martin each scored 21 points. Lall added 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. Small-Martin recorded 20-plus points for the second consecutive game.
First-year forward Michael Okeke scored a career-high 10 points in a season-high 18 minutes of action. He added three rebounds and two steals.
"I've changed a lot as a player this season. Coach Willy Manigat and Brandon Edwards helped me a lot coming into this season," said Okeke. "I'm able to guard multiple positions, shoot the three and get to the hole. They've been instrumental in helping me develop."
A Kinesiology student from Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Okeke didn't start playing the game of basketball until the age of 17.
"A lot of people pick up basketball late in their youth, but to have grown to this point and to being playing at this level while having that much promise, that is different," said Manigat of Okeke. "We're pretty excited to have Michael."
