LONDON - Bouncing back from a Friday night defeat, the Brock Badgers men's volleyball team knocked off the Western Mustangs 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in London. Set scores in the match were 25-22, 26-28, 25-23, 25-20.
Brock second-year outside hitter
Kylar Code delivered on a career performance in the victory setting new career-high's with 24 total points and 23 total kills, adding wo block assists in the four set win. Joining Code with a career night of his own, first-year outside hitter
Devin Cooney also set new high's in his rookie campaign tallying 18 points from 17 kills and two block assists.
Guiding the offence, third-year setter
Grant Reddon finished the night with with a new career-high 52 assists, adding four block assists and a service ace for scoring.
In addition to the outstanding offensive performances, the Badgers were also exceptional defensively recording 69 total team digs compared to just 54 for the Mustangs. Both Cooney and Reddon set new career-high's in digs with 14 and 11, respectively, while libero
Ethan Kalef established a new career mark for himself notching a game-high 17 digs.
Western was paced by a 16 point night from Amit Sayal who registered 13 kills, one solo block, and four block assists.
Brock will look to carry momentum from the career performances back at Bob Davis Gymnasium next weekend as they challenge the York Lions in back-to-back contests on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
