Box Score ST. CATHARINES – The No. 10 Brock Badgers four-game win streak came to an end in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) men's hockey action on Saturday, Jan. 7.
The Badgers lost 5-3 to the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold at Canada Games Park.
Despite outshooting TMU 37-34, the Badgers conceded three goals in the third period en route to their first loss since Nov. 24, which was also against the Bold.
Second-year forward
Jacob Roach opened the scoring early with a swift wraparound goal for his seventh of the season as Badgers goaltender
Mario Peccia made a flurry of saves to maintain Brock's 1-0 lead.
The second frame featured a back-and-forth battle on the scoreboard as TMU tied the game up at 9:29. Badgers captain
Jared Marino responded with a wrist shot goal just four minutes remaining in the period.
TMU's Elijah Roberts tied the game up 2-2, but
Cole Tymkin restored Brock's lead less than 20 seconds later.
The Bold capitalized on a power play to tie the game up before adding two more to complete the win. TMU goalie Kai Edmonds made 34 saves; Peccia finished with 29 saves.
