Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Stephen Leithwood

Bisante's scoring spree leads Brock to 9-0 victory against Algoma

Sabrina Bisante scored a career-high four goals and the Brock women's soccer team silenced the Algoma Thunderbirds 9-0 during Ontario University Athletics (OUA) action at Brock Alumni Field in St. Catharines on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Brock outshot Algoma 32-0.

Lily Jarvis tallied two goals while Cerrina Toromoreno and Kate Halley each potted a goal and an assist.

Kyra Eaton also found the back of the net as Jenna Parris registered two assists while Grace Tawil and Logan Baumhauer each contributed a helper.

Bisante, a third-year striker from Caledon East, scored twice before halftime as the Badgers led 4-0 after 45-minutes of play. The Teacher Education student would bury all four of her shots on goal before the final whistle.

Goalkeeper Emma Hendrie recorded her second clean sheet of the season.

From the first whistle, Brock exhibited their offensive firepower, putting relentless pressure on Algoma's defence. Jarvis opened the scoring just a minute and 24 seconds into the match. The goals continued to flow for Brock with Eaton and Bisante each lighting up the scoreboard in the first half.

The second half proved no different, as Brock continued their offensive onslaught. Jarvis and Bisante added to their goal tally, while Halley and Toromoreno also got on the scoresheet.

Goalkeepers Makayla Townes and Megan Chandler made a combined total of 12 saves for Algoma, but they were unable to prevent Brock's attack.

The match marked the end of OUA Anti-Racism Awareness Week. The Badgers wore 'We Are One' T-shirts and stood with the Thunderbirds during a special pre-game ceremony.

Up next, the Badgers (2-3-2) visit the Waterloo Warriors on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6:15 p.m.
