Badgers settle for draw against No. 10 Western Mustangs

The Brock Badgers men's soccer team travelled to London on Wednesday night (Oct. 11) and came away with a 0-0 draw.

The two teams traded shots on net in the first 15 minutes of the first half but both were unable to find a goal. Brock goalkeeper Taylor Miskolczi made a save in the 29th minute on a shot from Mahmoud Alqahwaji to keep the score level at the half.

The Badgers put up two shots on net in the final 45 minutes of play, generating chances off the foot of both Jake Kelly and Luca Danesi. Neither Bager was able to score the go-ahead goal. Miskolczi made one save near the start of the second half and prevented any Western ball from going into the Badgers' net.

The two teams settled for one point each with a 0-0 draw.

Western was written up for two yellow cards in the second half.

With two games left in the season, Brock currently holds the top spot in the OUA West Division. A first or second-place finish would guarantee a bye in the first round of the OUA Playoffs. The next two contests are against the second-place York Lions and could help decide who Brock plays in the playoffs.

Up next, the Badgers (7-2-1) will play their final home game and celebrate their graduating seniors on Saturday, October 20 against the York Lions (6-1-2). Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. at Brock Alumni Field.
