The Brock men's basketball hosted a pair of exhibition games at Bob Davis Gymnasium last weekend.

Brock defeated the Centennial Colts of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) by a score of 83-69 on Saturday, Oct. 14.

On Sunday, Oct. 15, the Badgers lost 57-47 to the Mercyhurst University Lakers, a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II school from Pennsylvania.

First-year point guard
Anthony Heyes led Brock in scoring during both contests. A St. Catharines native studying Kinesiology, Heyes posted 17 points against Centennial and 15 points versus Mercyhurst.

Against Centennial, senior guard
Jevon Brown put up 16 points and senior forward
Jordan Tchuente registered 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tchuente connected on all six of his free throws.

Second-year guards
Georges Mfwamba Ngandu added 12 points, including eight rebounds, and
Xavier Fearon posted nine boards.

Brock held a slight 41-40 lead at halftime before pulling away in the third.

Versus Mercyhurst, Brock led 11-8 after the first quarter, yet the Lakers outscored the Badgers 16-4 in the second to hold a nine-point lead at half.

Mercyhurst led the rest of the way despite Brock scored a game-high 20 points in the fourth.

First-year guard Davante Hackett recorded nine points while third-year power forward
Marlon Lestin nabbed 10 rebounds.

Up next, the Badgers (3-2) travel to the Kingston to compete in Queen's University's Tindall Invitational Tournament. Brock faces off against Queen's to open the tournament on Friday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m.
