Box Score The Brock Badgers women's basketball team visited Ottawa for a battle with the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, Nov. 18 where they were defeated by a score of 74-56.

The Badgers were led in this one by junior guard Madalyn Weinert who continues to put up amazing individual stats for Brock on a weekly basis. The St. Catharines, Ont. product had 16 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Weinert currently leads the league with 19.8 points per game.

Audrey Ntetani Umba also had a strong game for Brock off the bench, posting 10 points, one assist and one steal,

Ottawa was keeping the pace of play high in the first quarter whereas Brock was trying to slow things down and be more methodical. Some strong interior play by junior forward Madison MacInnis kept the Badgers tight, but Ottawa led 24-20 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second, Weinert took control of the Brock offence making a beautiful step-back three-point shot and converting a couple strong drives to the basket. Ottawa stayed hot on the offensive end too though and took a 44-37 lead into the break.

Brock struggled to get offensive momentum going in the third and Ottawa was able to stretch their lead. Heading into the fourth Ottawa led 57-39.

Weinert got the Badgers rolling offensively again in the fourth quarter, but the Ottawa offence was too strong on this night and unfortunately Brock could not form a comeback.

Next up, the Badgers (2-3) will return home to face the No. 3 ranked Queen's Gaels (6-0) on Friday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Bob Davis Gymnasium. The game can be viewed on OUA.tv.
