THOROLD – Led by a sensational performance from third-year goaltender
Kenzie Harmison, the Brock Badgers women's hockey team won a tightly contested 1-0 matchup against the TMU Bold on Saturday afternoon to earn their goalie her first career shutout..
Coming off of a 1-0 loss to conclude last weekend, the Badgers flipped the script as Harmison turned aside all 29 shots faced for her first career shutout. Most impressive was her 20 saves over the first 40 minutes of action as neither team was able to break through.
Then early in the third period
Madeline Nicholson opened the scoring for the Badgers with a snipe from the top of the left circle to find twine, and paired with four successful penalty kills, the Badgers came out on top 1-0 for their tenth win of the OUA season.
The win allows the Badgers to keep pace with the Western Mustangs, as both teams currently sit tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the OUA West division. The win is made even more pivotal as the Badgers are back in action on Friday, Feb. 17 when they visit those Western Mustangs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. in London. The game can be streamed online via
OUA.TV.
