Box Score St. Catharines - The Brock Badgers lost 3-1 to the Windsor Lancers during Game 1 of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) quarter-final playoffs at Canada Games Park on Thursday, Feb. 23.
 
The Lancers capitalized early with a power-play goal by Jaydon Fetter just a minute into the game.
 
Windsor increased its lead in the second with a goal by Barrett Dachyshyn before Brock's Adam Berg converted a feed from Justin Brack 52 seconds into the third.
 
The Badgers pulled goalie Roman Basran in favour of the extra attacker but couldn't beat Lancer netminder Nathan Torchia, who finished the game with 30 saves. Basran stopped 26 shots for Brock.
 
Grant Spence added an empty-netter.
 
Having earned a BYE in the first round of the playoffs, the Lancers hadn't played in almost two weeks. Meanwhile, the Badgers outlasted the Laurier Golden Hawks in three games with a 4-1 victory in Game 3 of Round 1 on Feb. 19.
 
Up next, the Badgers travel to Windsor's Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex for Game 2 of the OUA Quarter-finals on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. If necessary, the Lancers will also host Game 3 on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. Livestream the game on OUA.tv.
