The Brock Badgers women's rugby team trounced the York Lions with a staggering score of 98-6.
In the forwards,
Brooke Rempel and
Maia Swemmer delivered exceptional performances that left a lasting impact on the match. Swemmer was particularly outstanding, racking up an impressive four tries. Rempel showcased her prowess with both a try and some bone-crushing tackles, proving to be a force to be reckoned with in both ball carrying and defence.
Paige DeNeve was a key contributor to the Badgers' massive victory, scoring two tries and an astonishing 13 conversions, amassing a total of 36 points. Her precision with the boot was matched by her superb attacking and solid defensive play.
First-year fullback
Julie Grohal was named Player of the Match after tallying three tries and a conversion for a total of 17 points. Her remarkable kick and chase skills, combined with outstanding attacking maneuvers and unwavering defense, made her a standout player throughout the match. Her intercept try, thanks to fantastic line speed, was a true testament to her abilities.
The try-scoring didn't stop there for the Badgers, as Rempel,
Lily Freiburger,
Abigail Wade,
Olivia Van Wart, and
Orly Ferris each contributed with one try apiece. With such an impressive collective effort, the Brock Badgers truly demonstrated their dominance in the world of women's rugby, securing a resounding victory over the York Lions.
