The Brock men's soccer team opened the regular season with a triumphant 1-0 victory over the defending Ontario University Athletics (OUA) champion McMaster Marauders at Alumni Field in St. Catharines on Friday, Sept. 8.
 
Marc Iantomasi, a senior winger, scored in the 74th-minute mark to upend the No. 9 nationally-ranked Marauders. Third-year goalkeeper Taylor Miskolczi registered the clean sheet with a pair of saves.
 
Third-year striker Michael Solomon earned the assist after subbing onto the field in the 54^th minute for Mateo Puentes, who finished the game with a pair of shots.
 
Brock outshot McMaster 9-6, and delivered three corners in the first half. The Marauders committed 10 fouls to Brock's seven.
 
Second-year forward Luca Danesi tallied three shots while Solomon posted two. Senior midfielders Mike Fernandez and first-year centre back Conrad Czarnecki each added a shot.
