Badgers split points with Lions in season finale

Brock concluded their 2024 campaign on the road against York.

The Brock Badgers women's soccer team held the York Lions to a 2-2 draw on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Toronto.

Stefanie Young was the Badgers' lone goal scorer in the match with the fourth-year forward scoring an outstanding free kick to open the scoring and a late equalizer.

After Brock had taken the 1-0 advantage, a long-range strike from Jasmine Broderick-Bo in the second half leveled the contest.

Deep into the game's final minutes, York scored off of a free kick thanks to midfielder Kalifornia Mitchell.

In what was nearly the last kick of the game, a misplaced long pass from a York defender was cut down by Young who angled the ball into the back of the net on the deflection.

First-year goalkeeper Emi Foster made eight saves in the draw.

York led the shot department, putting up 26 shots with Brock recording 15 of their own.

Makenna Williamson was the Badgers' only yellow-card recipient in the match while the Lions received no cards.

The Brock Badgers women's soccer team finished the season with a 2-6-4 record.
