Brock showed their compete in a fiercely contested loss against Guelph. 

The Brock Badgers men's volleyball team headed to Guelph on Saturday, Nov. 16 where they were defeated 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 34-36, 21-25) by the Guelph Gryphons at Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.

Devin Cooney had a spectacular game as he notched a season and a game-high 37.5 points putting up 34 kills, two blocks, two service aces and seven digs. 

Second-year setter Adam Shapcott had a season-high 48 assists. 

Jaiden Dixon-Beason recorded his first career Ontario University Athletics (OUA) kill in the contest. 

In a tight first set, the Badgers made an effort and kept it close, though three service errors and one ball handling error was the difference maker in helping Guelph earn the opening set.  

Like the opening set, the second set was filled with action as there was a total of 30 kills. However, that wouldn't matter as the Badgers used their .414 hitting percentage to win the set 25-20. 

The Badgers trailed most of the set and showed their resilience and hard work forcing the set to extra points but couldn't cap it off as they lost 36-34 in a nail-biter.  

Brock hoped to force a fifth set but the Guelph pulled away with the set thanks to a higher hitting percentage and Brock's 12 errors. 

Guelph led the hitting percentage department with .312 compared to Brock's .257. 

Next for the Badgers, they will come back home to Bob Davis Gymnasium to face the McMaster Marauders as the game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m on Friday, Nov. 22.
