Badgers earn fourth consecutive provincial rowing championship

The Brock Badgers men's rowing team dynasty continues.   

On their home course, Henley Island in Port Dalhousie, the Badgers earned their fourth consecutive Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Men's Rowing Championship on Friday, October 25.  

The Badgers made an appearance on the podium in all 10 events as they placed first overall with 171 total points. The medal haul for the Badgers included five gold medals, three silvers and two bronze. Coming in second was the Western Mustangs (165) while the Toronto Varsity Blues earned third (111). 

"We're thrilled that the men's team has won four consecutive championships; a historic first for the program," said Head Coach Katie Bruggeling. "This remarkable group of athletes and coaches is truly exceptional and we're proud of all their work that's led to this result."  

For his standout performance, Charles-Etienne Tabet was named the OUA Male Rower of the Year for the second consecutive season. This marks the first time in program history, a rower has won this award twice in their university career. 

At the 2024 Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC) at Elk Lake in Victoria, BC, the Badgers men's rowing team finished second overall, for the third consecutive year. Brock's medal haul included two gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.  

Stephen Harris continued to add to his decorated trophy case at Brock with his third consecutive CURC Male Athlete of the Year award.
