Brock men’s hockey draws No. 8 seed for University Cup

The Badgers men's hockey team will be making their return to the national stage, drawing the No. 8 seed at the University Cup.

Action gets underway on Thursday, March 14 and runs until Sunday, March 17 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.

The most recent national championship appearance for Brock was during the 2021-22 season where they fell in the first round to the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.

To get to the U SPORTS Men's Hockey Championship, the Badgers had a strong regular season, finishing on top of the West Division with 21 wins. Earning a bye to the quarter-final round, Brock dispatched the Windsor Lancers in two games to earn a spot at the national championship tournament. A close 2-1 series loss followed to the TMU Bold in the semifinal round before settling for a fourth-place finish in Ontario.

The No. 8 Badgers will take on the No. 1 UNB Reds at 1 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 14. The game can be seen on the CBC Sports YouTube channel and tickets can be purchased at https://www.mattamyathleticcentre.ca/events.
