The Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell 5-1 to the TMU Bold on Saturday, Mar. 2 in Toronto in Game 2 of their OUA (Ontario University Athletics) semifinal matchup.
Fifth-year centre Justin Brack scored the Badgers lone goal in the loss.
Brock found a lead early in the first period through Brack. The General Sciences major scored on the Badgers' first shot of the game after controlling the puck in front of the net and sliding it past TMU goaltender Kai Edmonds. First-year forward Riley Gannon and third-year forward Christophe Cote each earned an assist on the goal. Just over a minute later, TMU's Carson Gallagher tied the game at one goal apiece.
Roughly three minutes into the second period, TMU scored two goals in seven seconds through Elijah Roberts and Kyle Bollers. A massive save from first-year goaltender Connor Ungar on a 2-on-1 chance for TMU kept the score close midway through the second period.
Bollers scored his second of the night for the Bold midway through the final frame in regulation. TMU added an empty netter in the third period to win Game 2 5-1.
Up next, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team (21-7-0) will look to earn a Game 3 win against the TMU Bold (19-8-1) on Sunday, Mar. 3 at 6 p.m. at Canada Games Park.
