Three late goals propelled Toronto over Brock in the final game of the Badgers' road trip.
The Brock Badgers men's hockey team could not claim victory against the Toronto Varsity Blues after falling 5-2 on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Varsity Arena in Toronto.
Third-year forward Holden Rogers recorded his 12th goal of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season while first-year forward Zack Stringer recorded his ninth. Ethan Sims registered two assists in the game.
Toronto opened the scoring just over a minute in with Brock finding an equalizer on the power play from Stringer and eventually taking the lead through Rogers' diving shot. The Varsity Blues would get a second goal with just two seconds left, ending the opening frame tied at two apiece.
With the score staying 2-2 at the end of the second period, the Badgers led in the shot department by seven and a total of 26-19.
In the third period, Brock was unable to capitalize on their power-play opportunities with Toronto scoring the go-ahead goal and later adding two empty netters.
Brock recorded 36 shots in the game to Toronto's 28.
First-year goalie Will Hambley made 23 saves.
