Badgers bested by No. 10 Bold in Toronto

Brock took on TMU in its first road game of 2025.

The Brock Badgers women's basketball team were defeated 72-58 by. the No. 10 nationally-ranked TMU Bold on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.

Madalyn Weinert recorded a game-high 24 points and 15 rebounds in the contest. Weinert along with Angeline Campbell both recorded three assists each.

Some early offence from Weinert helped the Badgers keep things close before the Bold nailed down two three-pointers late to hold a 19-8 after one quarter played.

Midway through the second quarter, Brock closed TMU's advantage down to just seven points but another strong end of the quarter from the hosts saw the Bold up 38-21 at the half.

A strong end of the third quarter for the Badgers included a three-pointer from Campbell, helping Brock erase a 17-point deficit but still trailing 49-40 with a quarter left to play.

Brock kept things close in the fourth quarter with multiple layups from Madison MacInnis coming early in the final frame but TMU would not rescind its lead to secure the 72-58 victory.

The Bold were successful from beyond the arc, knocking down nine of 30 attempts compared to Brock's two three-pointers on 21 attempts.
