An impressive run has come to an end for the Brock Badgers men's soccer team.
On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Badgers fell by a score of 3-0 to the Waterloo Warriors in an Ontario University Athletics (OUA) quarterfinal matchup at Warrior Field in Waterloo, Ont.
This group made the OUA quarterfinals after being eliminated in the first round last year and finished as the No. 3 seed in the OUA West Division after placing sixth in 2024.
Sebastian Agudo led the offensive charge for the Badgers, firing three shots on target, while as a team they put more shots on target by a count of 7-5.
In the first half, the Badgers found themselves down early as Jon Elezi scored in the 23rd minute.
Two more goals for Waterloo helped seal the game as Brock was unable to find the back of the net in the contest despite some late scoring chances.
A lengthy 70-minute lightning delay in the 70th minute prolonged the match for both sides.
Four Badgers received yellow cards to just one given to the Warriors
To get to this quarterfinal matchup, the Badgers bested the Laurier Golden Hawks 1-0 with an exciting 90th minute goal in their OUA first-round playoff game on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Alumni Field.
A one-win and one-tie improvement from last season gave the Badgers a four-point increase and is something they can build upon as they turn their focus to next season.
