The Brock men's basketball team defeated the Varsity Blues 81-71 in Toronto on Friday night, picking up their third consecutive win. Andrew McKenna scored a team-high 19 points, while also adding six rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal. Anthony Heyes went three of six from beyond the arc en route to 13 points of his own. Brock finished the first quarter leading 20-16, but by halftime the game saw both teams tied at 43. The Badgers played lockdown defence in the second half, allowing just 14 points in each of the final two frames while scoring 18 in the third and 20 in the fourth. The Badgers made their presence felt on the glass, recording 45 rebounds to Toronto's 29. Brock saw 38 of their points come in the paint, but shot the deep ball at an efficient 40 per cent as well.
Sunday, Nov. 9: W 82-76 at TMU Bold | Box Score

It's four consecutive victories for the Brock Badgers men's basketball team after they defeated the No. 3 ranked TMU Bold 82-76 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto on Sunday night. Leading all scorers was Heyes, who notched 24 points, while shooting an impressive 6-for-12 from the three-point line. Michael Matas also finished in double digits with 10 points and led all Badgers with seven rebounds. After a tight 21-19 first quarter went the way of the Bold, the Badgers fought back. They outscored the Bold 25-20 in the second frame to take a 44-41 lead, while holding the hosts to a measly 27.8 field goal percentage. Carrying a slim 63-62 advantage after 45 minutes of action, the Badgers scored 19 points in the final quarter and used stifling defence to keep the Bold to their fewest points in a frame at just 14. The Badgers were deadly from the beyond the arc, shooting at a 42.3 percentage compared to just 25.9 per cent from the Bold.
Up next, the Badgers will host the Windsor Lancers on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Bob Davis Gymnasium, followed by another home battle with the Western Mustangs for the Throwback Jam theme game on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m.

The Brock Badgers women's basketball team picked up an impressive victory on the first of back-to-back nights in Toronto, defeating the Varsity Blues 70-66 on Friday night. Shailah Adams delivered a game-high 20 points, shooting 50 per cent from the field while adding two steals and three rebounds. Madalyn Weinert scored 17 points and tallied six rebounds, while Vienna Vercesi provided efficiency for Brock, scoring 10 points in 19 minutes on perfect shooting. The Badgers set the tone early, getting out to a 26-14 lead at the end of the first. Despite being outscored in the next three, Brock kept the margins slim and held Toronto under 20 points in every frame to hold on and claim the win. Ball security proved crucial in this tight contest as the Badgers turned the ball over 12 times to the Bold's 17 giveaways.
Saturday, Nov. 8: L 70-54 at TMU Bold | Box Score

On the second game of their Toronto road trip, the Brock Badgers women's basketball team fell to the No. 3 ranked TMU Bold by a score of 70-54. Adams scored a team-high 16 points, while Vercesi added 10 of her own. Weinert recorded double-digit rebounds, grabbing 13. After going down 21-10 at the end of the first quarter, Weinert's five points in the second quarter helped the Badgers cut the Bold's lead to 36-27 at the end of the first half. After bringing the lead down to eight at the conclusion of the third quarter, the Bold pulled away, scoring 20 fourth quarter points to seal the game. The Badgers converted on 92 per cent of their free throws to the Bold's 75 per cent, while also outscoring them 15-3 in bench points.
The Badgers look to respond next weekend as they return home to Bob Davis Gymnasium for two matchups. The first will take place on Friday, Nov. 14 against the Windsor Lancers at 6 p.m., while the second is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15 against the Western Mustangs for the Throwback Jam theme game, with tip off set for 6 p.m.

The Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell just short in a 3-2 shootout decision against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Thursday night at Canada Games Park. First-year forward Eric Bernard scored his first career OUA goal, while fifth-year forward Nicholas Domitrovic found the back of the net on the power play. The Badgers got things started with Bernard making no mistake to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead. The Blues tied things up later in the first to make it a tie game. After a little under halfway through the second period, Domitrovic regained the Badgers' lead, scoring the lone goal of the frame. In the third period, the Varsity Blues found the back of the net early, squaring the game at two and sending the game to overtime. With both sides going scoreless in the extra frame, a shootout was needed to settle this battle. Matt Durate had the only successful shootout attempt for the Badgers, but it was not enough as Toronto took the contest 3-2. Both teams took advantage of their power plays, each scoring a goal with the man advantage.

The Brock men's hockey team came back in the third period to defeat the Western Mustangs 3-2 at Canada Games Park on Saturday. Nathan Fox, Keefe Gruener and Jordan Stock each scored one goal in the contest, while goaltender Will Hambley stopped 25 of 27 shots and kept the Badgers within striking distance. Fox opened the scoring in the first period, giving Brock a 1-0 lead. The Mustangs responded with two goals later in the period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second. After a scoreless second period, Gruener scored his first career OUA goal midway through the third to tie the game. Six minutes later, Stock found the back of the net, which would end up being the game-deciding goal. Despite a tight game, Brock dominated in the shot category with a staggering 44 compared to Western's 27.

It was a tight contest between the Brock Badgers women's hockey team and the TMU Bold as they fell 1-0 on Thursday night in Toronto. Megan Thiessen stopped 11 of 12 shots for an impressive .917 save percentage. The second-year netminder played just under 58 minutes until the Badgers opted to pull her for an extra attacker at the end of the game. Brock surrendered a goal late in the first period, which ended up being the only score of the game. Despite many quality chances over the course of the next two periods, the Badgers were unable to find the back of the net. Both teams took two minor penalties and killed each of them off. The Badgers won the shot battle, putting 24 on target to the Bold's 11.
Saturday, Nov. 8: L 4-3 (SO) at Queen's Gaels | Box Score

In a tight battle that ended in a shootout, the Brock Badgers women's hockey team fell 4-3 to the Queen's Gaels in Kingston, Ont. Grace Campbell. Carly Sardine and Taylor Wolsey, scored for the Badgers, while Thiessen made 41 saves. After a scoreless first period, Wolsey opened the scoring in the second with a power-play goal to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead. After the Gaels scored three unanswered goals to go up 3-1, Campbell and Sardine each scored in the last five minutes of regulation to send the game into overtime. Following a scoreless extra frae, the Gaels prevailed in the shootout, scoring on their second opportunity after the first two Badgers chances were stopped. Both teams committed six minor penalties, while Brock made the most of their power-play opportunities, scoring one on the advantage to zero from Queen's.
Up next, the Badgers return home to Canada Games Park to take on the Toronto Varsity Blues on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. The Badgers will remain at home on Saturday, Nov. 15 as the Ottawa Gee-Gees come to town for a 6 p.m. matchup on Nov. 15.

Saturday, Nov. 8: Placed second at Tom Fuke Memorial Meet | Results
The Brock men's swimming team engaged in a very tight battle at the Tom Fuke Memorial Meet at the Athletic Complex in Waterloo, Ont., finishing ahead of the York Lions (851-642) and falling just short of the host Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 821-815. Noah Chang, a first-year swimmer, delivered gold medals in the 50-metre breaststroke and 100m breaststroke events and added a silver in the 200m breaststroke competition. Also earning gold medals were Lleyton Schuster (200m IM, 400m IM) and Jasper Van Maren (200m breaststroke). Combined with the women's results, the Badgers bested both the Laurier Golden Hawks (1649.5-1523.5) and the York Lions (1711-1124).

The Badgers women's swimming team earned a decisive victory at the Tom Fuke Memorial Meet at the Athletic Complex in Waterloo, Ont., besting both the Laurier Golden Hawks (834.5-702.5) and the York Lions (860-482). Adriana Martone set a new school record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 32 seconds and 80 milliseconds, while winning gold in three events (50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke). Joining Martone with three first-place finishes were Tatum O'Connor and Anna Whittaker. O'Connor claimed golds in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke events, while Whittaker was victorious in the 400m individual medley, 200m freestyle and 800m freestyle races. Grace Chai claimed two gold medals in the 50m freestyle and 200m individual medal and added a silver (50m breaststroke) to her tally. On top of winning the women's competition, the Badgers combined to defeat the Golden Hawks (1649.5-1523.5) and the Lions (1711-1124) for the overall win.

The Brock Badgers men's volleyball team kept their momentum rolling at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday night, posting a 3-0 sweep over the Waterloo Warriors (26-24, 25-20, 25-18) to secure their second win of the season. Devin Cooney led the attack with a match-high 15 points coming from 13 kills, one service ace and one block, while Caleb Huot directed the offence, recording 22 assists. The opening set was tightly contested, with the Badgers edging out the Warriors 26-24 in extra points. The decisive sequence that secured the set for Brock came when Waterloo delivered two attack errors, with the latter coming from a block from Liam Strong. The Badgers controlled the pace in the second frame, taking it 25-20, and capped off the third set with a commanding 25-19 finish to seal the sweep. The Badgers showcased strong play on both sides of the ball, leading the kill battle 29-26, while also finishing ahead in digs 17-15

After a Friday night win, the Brock Badgers men's volleyball team dropped Saturday's matchup to the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 21-25), at Bob Davis Gymnasium. Cooney scored a match-high 16 points coming from 12 kills, three service aces and one block, while Kylar Code added eight points from seven kills and one block. After the Badgers broke out to a 16-10 lead in the first set, the Warriors responded to several errors by the Badgers, going on a 15-7 run to take the first frame. A back-and -forth second set saw Brock bring the Waterloo's lead to one, but a 6-2 run from the Warriors earned them the 25-20 decision. The final frame followed a similar pattern. After a close start to the set, the Warriors pulled away late, winning the match. The Badgers won the dig battle 31-21, while also tallying four blocks to the Warriors' two.
The Badgers look to bounce back next week as they head to Peterborough, Ont. for two matches against the Trent Excalibur. The first contest is slated for Friday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m., with the second scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15 at 3:30 p.m.

The No. 9 ranked Brock Badgers defeated the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-21) at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday night. Emily Foest led all Badgers with 10 points off five kills and five service aces. Mackenna Knox was the primary setter, recording a match-high 21 assists. The Badgers dominated from the first set, jumping out to a 10-3 lead and never looking back as they won the set 25-8. After going down 2-0 in the second set, the Badgers took control, stringing together multiple three to four point streaks to win the second set 25-16. In the third frame, Brock fell behind early, but after scoring eight points in a row, the Badgers took a 17-10 lead and rode that momentum to a 25-21 win to complete the sweep. The Badgers showed their dominance and led in every major stat in this game, with some impressive stats being 7-2 for blocks, 29-17 for kills and 9-6 for service aces.

On the second night of a back-to-back, the Brock Badgers women's volleyball team won their second straight match against the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-22), at Bob Davis Gymnasium. Emma Baruchelli scored a team-high 10 points coming from six kills, one service ace and three blocks, while Alaina Larochelle added seven points from five kills, one service ace and one block. After the Badgers went up 11-4 in the first set, the Warriors battled back to make it a 12-10 match. Despite this run, Brock never wavered, taking the first set 25-21. The second set saw Waterloo break out to a 14-13 lead, to which Brock responded with a 12-3 run to win the frame. In the third, the Warriors made a run to tie the final frame 12-12. In response, the Badgers went on a 13-10 run led by two kills from Rochelle to win the match. Brock showcased their defence throughout, winning the block battle 8-5, while also edging out the Warriors in digs 26-25.
The Badgers look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Peterborough, Ont. for two games against the Trent Excalibur. The first matchup is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m., while the second is set for Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.

The Brock men's wrestling team continued their season with a trip to Toronto for the York Open. Coming away with a gold medals at the competition were Yazdan Farokhizad in the 100-kilogram division and Roger Li in the 125kg event. Farokhizad delivered a commanding performance as he did not give up a single point and won all three of his matches by technical fall. Li bested his Brock teammate Callum Knox to win his event.

Brock went into each matchup with two scratched slots and still impressively put up strong results against each team at the Adrian Duals, which took place at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Centre in Adrian, Mich.,. Mia Friesen won all four of her matches in the duals, winning all of her bouts by technical fall 10-0, while Vanessa Keefe won three of her four contests by technical fall.

Continuing with the Adrian Invite the next day, the Badgers earned two first-place finishes. Friesen continued her dominant weekend, winning the final of the 131-pound A-bracket by technical fall 10-0 in just 0:28. In the 131lb B-bracket, Mathezer bested all challengers, capping off her undefeated run with a win by fall in 0:49.

In the first quarterfinal contest of the Baggataway Cup at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton, Ont., the Badgers shocked all in attendance with a thrilling 13-12 come-from-behind win against the Trent Excalibur in overtime. Five Badgers found the scoresheet in the contest. Guerin Jennings led the way with three, while Colton Armitage, Jack Parker, Jaden Patterson, Jackson Shabot and Noah Simonelli all earned two. After going down at halftime 7-4, the Badgers found themselves in a greater deficit at 12-5. In an unprecedented run, Brock scored eight straight goals, with Simonelli earning the game winner with 3:30 left in the extra frame.
Matching up with the Guelph Gryphons, the Badgers dropped a 15-10 decision in the semifinals of the Baggataway Cup. Parker and Simonelli both delivered three goals, while Patterson added two. Armitage and Andrew Kidd were the other goal scorers in the contest. The Gryphons went up 8-3 after two quarters of play. Despite being down, the Badgers kept fighting and matching the Gryphons with seven goals in the second half. With the well-built lead in the first, Guelph took the match.
