The Brock Badgers women's hockey team left Memorial Gardens with a 3-1 loss against the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, Feb. 15.Â
Jenna Duarte scored her seventh goal of the season and the Badgers' lone goal in the matchup.Â
The Badgers saw off three penalties while being outshot 11-7 to finish the period goalless.
Brock conceded a goal after five minutes, 46 seconds into the second period and another goal on a penalty shot just four minutes later.Â
The Nipissing Lakers scored just after the halfway mark in the third period to extend the lead to three goals.Â
With just over three minutes left in the game, Duarte found the net for the Badgers.
The Badgers outshot the Lakers by a total of 23-20.Â
Megan Thiessen played in goal for Badgers and saved 17 of 20 shots against Nipissing.Â
The Brock Badgers women's hockey team finished the 2024-25 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season with a record of 7-13-3-3. Head coach Margot Page will look to bounce back next season with a young squad.
