The Brock men's basketball team earns their fourth consecutive Top 10 ranking, as the women's volleyball team claims a spot for the ninth week in a row.

The Badgers men's basketball team sits at No. 10 in the latest version of the U SPORTS Top 10 Rankings.
In a Friday night clash against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, the Brock men's basketball team was victorious, taking the contest 71-62 at Bob Davis Gymnasium. Andrew McKenna was a lead contributor for the Badgers, pouring in 20 points along with eight rebounds to help seal the win while Michael Matas earned 19 points of his own, shooting an efficient 58.3 per cent from the field. Isaiah Bujdoso was a strong facilitator, dishing out a game-high six assists, while also recording four steals to go along with his seven points. Matas took over in the second quarter, dropping eight points on 4-for-5 shooting as the Badgers took a 46-30 lead after 20 minutes. Despite being outscored in the second half, Brock claimed a 71-62 victory with their well-built advantage. The Badgers took control in the assist column, out earning the Ridgebacks 15-6 in this category.
Saturday's game saw Matas celebrated on Senior Night as the Badgers fell 100-82 to the Queen's Gaels at Bob Davis Gymnasium. Anthony Heyes led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 8-for-12 from beyond the arc for a 66.7 three-point percentage. Birch Pockar tied a career-high 12 points, converting on 4-for-9 three-point attempts, while McKenna led the Badgers with six assists to go along with five points. The game resembled a three-point contest, with both teams shooting lights out from deep. The Badgers shoot the three-ball at 46.3 per cent, going 19-for-41, while the Gaels saw an even stronger performance, converting on 15-for-29 attempts for 51.7 per cent.
The Badgers will look to get back in the win column as they play host to the York Lions for the All for Change game on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at Bob Davis Gymnasium. They will then take on the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. for the Paint the Meridian Red game, taking place at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.

After a weekend of Ontario University Athletics (OUA) action, the Brock women's volleyball team ranks No. 7 in the U SPORTS Top 10 rankings.
The Badgers women's volleyball team travelled to Toronto for a weekend doubleheader with the Varsity Blues, splitting the road series. In the first game on Friday, Jan. 23, Brock defeated Toronto 3-0 (28-26, 26-24, 25-22) at the Goldring Centre. Daryan Chadwick contributed with 9.5 points, while Mackenna Knox was the lead setter, earning 32 assists. In the first set, Brock went up 24-19 but surrendered the next six points to Toronto. Responding nicely, they took the next two points to reclaim the lead, and eventually took the frame 28-26. Charlotte Ross notched 11.5 points in the contest, doing so with seven kills to go along with 4.5 blocks which included the set-clinching block to end the second frame. Emily Foest scored 15 points, all from kills, including a crucial one near the end of the match in the third set. Controlling the block department was important for Brock as they outearned Toronto 10-4 in this statistic.
In Saturday's rematch, the Badgers fell 3-1 (28-30, 26-28, 25-21, 19-25) to the Varsity Blues. Emma Baruchelli was Brock's leading scorer, tallying 15 points from 11 kills, three blocks and one service ace. Foest earned 14 points off of 12 kills, one block and one service ace, while Knox once again facilitated the offence with 33 assists. It was a team effort from the Badgers, who saw six players each earn eight points or more. Dropping the first two sets in nail-biting fashion, the Badgers responded with a third-set victory before ultimately falling in four sets. Both teams notched five service aces in the contest, while the Badgers took the advantage in the blocks department with 19 of their own compared to 11 for the Varsity Blues.
Up next, Brock will enjoy a week of rest as they prepare for two home matchups against the Lakehead Thunderwolves at Bob Davis Gymnasium. The first game will take place on Friday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., with the second being Senior Night, slated for Saturday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m.
