The Brock Badgers women's soccer team clinched their spot in the 2026 OUA playoffs with a 1-0 victory against the Western Mustangs on Friday, Oct. 2 at Alumni Field.
The sixth win of the season for the Badgers squad puts them in second place in the OUA West Division with an overall record of 6-1-2 (W-L-T). This will mark their first season back in the playoffs since 2023.
The second goal of the season for second-year midfielder
Kayleigh DiGirolamo proved to be the difference-maker, as she broke the scoreless tie in the 66th minute on a penalty kick.
Maddy Heeley was a key part of the win, stopping all eight shots she faced for her OUA-best seventh clean sheet of the season. The fifth-year keeper ranks second in the OUA with a .917 save percentage.
