Two members of the Brock Badgers men's basketball team have earned provincial recognition from Ontario University Athletics (OUA).
The OUA announced their list of major award winners and all-stars for men's basketball on Friday, Feb. 27.
Andrew McKenna received OUA Second Team All-Star honours, while Michael Okeke was named the OUA's Champion of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
After a year away from the Badgers playing Division I basketball for the Pacific Tigers in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), McKenna, a six-foot-six forward, started in 19 regular-season games for Brock this season. The Kingston, Ont., native finished first on the team in total points (286), points per game (11.9), rebounds per game (5.8), field goals made (99), and free throws made (60).
"I'm proud of Andrew. To come back to this program and find a way to get his confidence back, while playing at a consistently high level, I'm happy for him," said head coach Willy Manigat. "He's been a big part of what we do, and he's a great representation of what it means to be a Brock Badger."
The Sport Management major also set several career highs this past season. On Jan. 18, 2026, he scored 22 points in an 84-80 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves. McKenna also impacted the game on the glass and as a playmaker, tallying seven rebounds in a 75-61 win over the Algoma Thunderbirds on Nov. 29, 2025, and six assists on Jan. 24, 2026, in a 100-82 loss to the Queen's Gaels.
This marks McKenna's first OUA all-star selection after being named to the OUA All-Rookie Team during the 2023-24 season.

Over the course of his five years with the Badgers, Okeke has been a pillar of the men's basketball program and the Brock community. He played an instrumental role in launching the All for Change campaign, helping raise awareness around the experiences and challenges faced by Black student-athletes. Okeke consistently volunteered his time through school visits, where he not only shared his story to inspire youth but also organized and encouraged his teammates to participate alongside him. This past year, Okeke was handpicked to write an open letter during Black History Month reflecting on his journey as a Black student-athlete, an honest and powerful piece that resonated across the campus community.
"Michael continues to be a strong advocate and plans to carry that work beyond his career at Brock, supporting youth and spreading a positive message on and off the floor," Manigat said. "This is a very deserving award for him and is a culmination of what he's done in his five years with the Badgers."
The Social Sciences major was also a key contributor on the court, starting in 17 regular-season games while finishing first on the team in blocks per game (0.3) and total blocks (7). Additionally, the Pointe-Claire, Que., native tallied a career-high 14-point performance, which included a career-best four made three-pointers in a 93-91 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Feb. 14, 2026.
