Badgers earn first point of the season

The Brock Badgers men's soccer team wrapped up their second game of the weekend with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the McMaster Marauders at Alumni Field on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Forward Luca Danesi, last season's leading scorer for the Badgers, opened his account for the new campaign with his first goal of the year.

Despite plenty of early pressure from the Badgers with seven total shots, the hosts were unable to find the breakthrough across the first half.

Brock came out of the halftime break with similar intensity, with Danesi heading home a cross from Leart Nura for the opening goal of the game in the 56th minute.

First-year goalkeeper Taj Moore turned aside five shots throughout the contest, including several key stops in the second half, as McMaster searched for an equalizer

Despite Brock's defensive efforts and determination, McMaster were able to find the back of the net in the 75th minute to level the game.

The Badgers will look to carry this positive result into their next game against the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont. The game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18 at 8:15 p.m.
