Steve Lidstone is the Associate Director of Sports Performance at Brock University where he manages the Sports Medicine and Sports Performance Departments. He is the former Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at York University (2004-2007) and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at McMaster University (2007-2016). Lidstone is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Strength & Conditioning coach who combines both disciplines in an effort to offer complete care to each athlete the he is fortunate to work with.
 
Lidstone is a Strength & Conditioning Consultant with Hockey Canada 2005-Present, Wrestling Canada 2016-Present and has also consulted or served as a member for various Canadian National Team IST’s (Basketball, Bobsleigh, Trampoline and Waterski Canada).
 
Career highlights include:
  • Strength & Conditioning Coach Hockey Canada World Championships (2008,2010,2016)
  • Strength & Conditioning Coach Trampoline Canada (Worlds & Olympics 2004-Beijing 2008)
  • Being a part of the journey for numerous athletes in various sports on the road to OUA Championships, U Sport National Championships, Canadian Championships, World Championships and the summer and winter Olympic Games over the past 2 decades.
 
Lidstone has been a sessional instructor at Sheridan College, McMaster University and Redeemer University and presents at various conferences annually. Lidstone currently sits on the advisory board for the Registered Kinesiologists of Ontario (RKIN) and the Canadian Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCA).
Lidstone, who is from St. Hilaire, Quebec, resides in Niagara-on-the-Lake with his wife Kristy and their three amazing children. Lidstone is proud to call Niagara home and has now focused his passion for athletic development on youth, varsity, next gen and professional athletes in the Greater Niagara Region.
