MacLennan, a native of Nova Scotia, is responsible for supporting player development and team tactics through advanced video analysis.
He is currently the head coach and general manager of the Weeks Hockey Organization's U18 Majors. He is heavily involved in Hockey Nova Scotia, including a Hockey Canada Development Camp coach in 2019.
As a player, MacLennan competed at the University of New England, graduating with a BSc in Applied Exercise Science and with the Pictou County Weeks Junior A Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MJHL) where he won the Canadian Junior Hockey League's Fred Page Cup in 2008.
