Scott Anderson is a coach with the Brock University rowing program, where he currently leads the open weight men’s program. A St. Catharines native and Brock graduate, Anderson has been instrumental in the sustained success of the Badgers.
Since joining Brock in 2016 as an assistant coach with the lightweight men’s program and shifting to the lead open weight men’s coach in 2020, Anderson has contributed to multiple Ontario University Athletics (OUA) men’s points banners, including championships in 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. From 2021-2025, the men’s team also earned a runner-up finish at the Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC).
Prior to and alongside his time at Brock, Anderson has coached with the St. Catharines Rowing Club since 2008, developing numerous athletes who have progressed to U23 and Senior National Teams, competing at World Championships and the Olympic Games.
Anderson’s coaching has been widely recognized. He was named OUA Male Coach of the Year in 2017, 2023 and 2025, Canadian University Rowing Association Coach of the Year in 2019 and Row Ontario Competitive Rowing Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2024.
At the international level, Anderson served as the U23 National Team men’s sweep coach in 2022 through 2025.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education. As an athlete, he competed at both the World Championships and the Pan American Games. He is a certified Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) performance coach and coach developer for both Row Ontario and Rowing RCA.
