Luc Lobsinger was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario and graduated from Brock in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. Following graduation he began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Men's Hockey team, a role he remained in for two seasons from 2012-14.
The following season Lobsinger was hired as the goaltending coach for the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League. After spending one season with the IceDogs he returned to Brock serving as the Goalie Coach for both the men's and women's hockey teams.
That same season he also represented Switzerland, working with their goalies throughout the 2016 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship alongside Brock women's hockey coach Margot Page. Some highlights of Luc’s time at Brock include being part of the 2017-18 Men’s Hockey OUA West Championship team, representing Brock at the 2018 U SPORTS Men’s Hockey National Championships, and helping goaltenders Clint Windsor, Logan Thompson, and Jensen Murphy win OUA Goaltender of the Year awards.
All three of which have moved on to professional hockey: Thompson signing with the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights, Windsor with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, and Murphy who joined the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association. Lobsinger now calls Niagara home, residing in Thorold with his wife Kaitlyn and their dog Boomer.
