ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Department Athletics
hosted their 7th Hall of Fame Induction ceremony Saturday night as
they honoured four athletes, one builder and one team. Brock
Director of Athletics Dr. Lorne Adams also honoured Bruce Wormald
and Helen Henderson, the first ever Male and Female Athletes of the
Year in Brock school history.
Former Brock standouts inducted into the 2009 Athletics Hall of
Fame included Shawn Williams (Men's Lacrosse), Kirsty Salmon
(Women's Swimming), Shannon Hann (Women's Basketball), Nick Ugoalah
(Men's Wrestling), Ed Davis (Builder) and the 2001-02 Women's
Wrestling Team.
Shawn Williams
Men's Lacrosse 1995-1999
- 1st all-time in Brock career scoring
- 5-time Team MVP
- 4 Baggataway Cup Championships as a player
- 2 Baggataway Cup Championships as the head coach
- represented Canada at 5 World Championships

Ed Davis
Builder 1967-1975
Ed Davis was instrumental in starting the Brock men's hockey
program in 1967, which competed in the Ontario Inter-Collegiate
Athletic Association (OIAA) for the first time in 1967-68. For two
seasons Davis was the head coach of the team bringing in former
standouts Mike Nicholson, Steve Latinovich and Bruce Wormald. The
Brock Men's Hockey Most Valuable Player trophy is named after
Ed Davis.
Davis was also the head coach of the Brock Men's Curling
team from 1970-1975. In 1971-72, he led the Badgers to the
school's second conference title as they captured the OUAA
Championship defeating
Carleton 15-4 in the final.
