Spencer, a second-year Kinesiology student, sprinted his way to a Top 5 result at the U SPORTS National Championship in Saskatoon this past weekend. A sophomore sprinter making his second appearance at the national showcase event, Spencer first earned his spot in the finals of the men's 60m hurdles event after posting the sixth fastest time in preliminaries with a 8.29. The Thorold native went on to better his prelim performance sprinting to a time of 8.20 in the national finals, finishing fifth overall in the country for the 60m hurdles.The fifth place finish improved upon a 10th place result at the U SPORTS National Championship a year ago.
