On Saturday, Jan. 14, Friesen, a third-year wrestler, dispatched all opponents en route to a first-place finish at the Brock Open in the women's 59-kilogram division. Friesen started with 10-0 technical fall victories over Iman Zebian (Western Mustangs) and Olivia Litchi (McMaster Marauders). The Social Sciences major then defeated Virignie Gascon of the Concordia Stingers by fall at 5:42 to win first place. Friesen picks up her second gold of the season after earning one at the TMU Open on Nov. 12.
