Jack Tiessen, a second-year starting pitcher, delivered a sensational showing on the mound at the OUA Baseball Championship as he led the Badgers to their first provincial medal since 2016. The Business Communication student pitched a complete game, going all seven innings and striking out eight batters as the Badgers defeated the Queen's Gaels 9-5 on Saturday, Oct. 12. In the fourth inning and the Gaels only down by two runs, Tiessen delivered a game-defining strikeout to get out of the bases-loaded jam. His endurance and mental toughness were on display all game as he threw an astounding 142 pitches.
