Stephen Harris, a fifth-year rower, had a sensational Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC) showing as he was named the Male Athlete of the Year for the third consecutive season. In the men's single event, the Economics major claimed gold with a time of six minutes, 53 seconds and seven milliseconds, besting boats from both the Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds. For his second event of the competition, Harris earned a bronze with crewmates Maddox Harrison, Michael Ciepiela, Keithan Woodhouse, Riley Watson, Euan Coulson, Ian Doctor, Christopher Gomez and coxswain Serafina Dell in the men's eight (5:36.49). Overall, the Badgers men finished second for the third consecutive year and Harris' showing was a big reason why.Â
