For an impressive third time this season, Madalyn Weinert has been named a Brock University Athlete of the Week. The reigning Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Player of the Year put up strong numbers in her team's two playoff games last week. In their 81-72 win against the Laurentian Voyageurs on Wednesday, Feb. 19, Weinert scored a game-high 25 points while adding a contest-high 12 rebounds. She also distributed a team-high five assists while leading the squad with 33 minutes of game action as the Badgers moved on to the OUA quarterfinal round. In their next matchup against the TMU Bold on Saturday, Feb. 22, Weinert continued her dominance on both ends of the floor as she collected her 17th double-double of the season. In a team-high 37 minutes, she led the team in four different categories as she finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. Her 21.5 points per game puts her fourth among playoff performers currently, while her 12.5 rebounds per game places her first in the province.
