Making an impressive Badgers' debut, Tia Schaffer, an Ontario Tech Ridgebacks transfer, scored two goals over the weekend to help the women's soccer team collect two victories over the Algoma Thunderbirds. On Saturday, Aug. 30, the Professional Kinesiology graduate student made good on a penalty kick opportunity for her first Ontario University Athletics (OUA) goal in the 13th minute as Brock won 2-1. The next day, Schaffer knocked in a header in the 90th minute to help secure the Badgers' 3-0 decision. Throughout the weekend, Schaffer was a presence on the back line and impressively scored two goals from the centre back position.
