Competing at the Badger Invitational at the Eleanor Misener Aquatic Centre on Saturday, Jan. 31, Mia Frederiksen captured two gold medals to propel Brock to a second-place finish at the meet. In the 100-metre backstroke event, the second-year swimmer topped the podium with a time of one minute, three seconds and 96 milliseconds. Behind her were teammates, Sophia St-Pierre and Gwen Creskey, claiming silver and bronze as Brock took the top three spots in the event. Frederiksen was not finished there, also claiming gold in the 50m freestyle with a time of 27.09. The Teacher Education major bested Laurier's Olivia Francis by three milliseconds, narrowly claiming the top spot. Frederiksen was responsible for two of Brock's 19 podium finishes at the event.
