Birch Pockar earned his second Athlete of the Week selection after a sensational weekend that saw him lead the Badgers to two clutch victories that helped solidify the fourth seed in the OUA heading into the playoffs. In a thrilling 93-91 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday, Feb. 13 in Waterloo, Ont., Pockar finished one-point shy of 20 points, shooting 50 per cent from the field as he finished 7-for-14. In the pivotal fourth quarter, he played all but one minute, scoring two baskets and picking up two steals to make an impact on both ends of the floor. The first-year Business student led all Badgers with a career-high 22 points and a team-high eight rebounds in a 77-76 road win over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Feb. 14. He delivered a similar shooting performance from the field, finishing 7-for-15 for 47 per cent. His fourth-quarter showing was once again pivotal for the Badgers' success as he poured in 11 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. This marked his third straight game with double-digit points and his sixth in the past seven games.
