Brock women's volleyball falls 3-1 to Lancers

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (3-5 OUA West) fell to the Windsor Lancers (6-3 OUA West) by the score of 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-17) on Saturday afternoon. 

The Badgers got the match started with a 25-22 first set win to take an early lead over the Lancers.

Windsor put the pressure back on Brock and would not give it up taking the next three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-17 for the 3-1 win. 

Shenise Power led the way for the Badgers registering 14 kills, one solo block, two block assists and one service ace for 17 points. Maddie Brown continues to put up strong numbers with nine kills, two errors and a remarkable hitting percentage of .500 for the match. Brown also collected one solo block and three blocks assists for 11.5 points. 

The OUA's leading attacker Kaila Seguin was able to increase her lead with a game high 16 kills to go with two solo blocks for 18 points. Mackenzie Coyle and Shannon Dean had 12 and 11 kills respectively. Danielle Lenarduzzi registered 44 assists in the win for Windsor.  

As a team, the Badgers had a hitting percentage of .080 registering 44 kills with 32 errors on 150 attempts. The Lancers hit .170 with 51 kills, 26 errors and 147 attempts. 

The Badgers will head to London on Sunday for a matchup against the Western Mustangs (0-6 OUA) with the game starting at 1pm.
