TORONTO, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (6-11 OUA) dropped a 3-0 (25-21, 30-28, 25-20) decision to the University of Toronto Varsty Blues (13-3 OUA) Saturday afternoon on the road.
Brock was led by senior
Shenise Power (North Vancouver, BC) who recorded 12 kills and nine digs. Seniors
Tori Stirling (Whitby, Ont.) and
Lucy McLay (Stratford, Ont.) both contributed with eight kills each while adding 16 and 11 digs respectively. Tori also registered her 500th career kill as a Badger. Junior setter
Lauren Stirling (Whitby, Ont.) finished with 24 assists and nine digs in the loss.
Leading the Varsity Blues was Charlotte Sider who led all players with 13 kills and 16 digs. Tessa Davis added 12 kills while Caleigh Cruickshank chipped in with eight kills. Setter Julia Bellehumeur added 27 assists in the victory.
For the game Brock hit just 9.8% adding 32 kills with 19 errors on 132 attempts. Toronto finished with a 17.1% hitting percentage registering 50 kills with 25 errors on 146 attempts.
The Badgers return to action Sunday afternoon when they take on the Ryerson Rams at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
