OTTAWA - The Brock University men's hockey team dropped a 5-4 decision in overtime to the Carleton Ravens Friday night at the Ice House in the nation's capital.
The Badgers opened the scoring 10:57 into the first period, as
Chris Maniccia (St Catharines, Ont.) setup
Jake Cardwell (Niagara Falls, Ont.) for his fourth goal of the season.
The Ravens would answer with two goals, just 24 seconds apart, as Brett Gustavsen and Brett Welychka beat Brock starter
Clint Windsor (Hamilton, Ont.) to take a 2-1.
Less than a minute later, Cardwell added his second of the night, to tie the game 2-2 with six minutes left in the first period. Carleton's Michael McNamee added a powerplay marker with four minutes left in the opening period to make it 3-2 at the end of 20 minutes.

Real Cormier (Trenton, Ont.) replaced Windsor between te pipes to start the second period.
With 3:55 remaining in the second period, Brock's
Jamie Kendra (Markham, Ont.) tied the game 3-3, as he added a powerplay marker for just his second goal of the season. Maniccia and
Josh Timpano (Orillia, Ont.) added the assists.
Carleton would regain the one goal lead, 6:19 into the third period, as
Gustavsen added his second goal of the game.
With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Brock captain
Dan Tanel (Mississauga, Ont.) beat Ravens goaltender Frances Dupuis to tie the game 4-4, sending it to overtime.
Just 1:35 into the overtime, Carleton's Connor Boland recorded the game winner. The Badgers have now lost three games this season in overtime.
In goal, Cormier collected 24 saves while Windsor finished with 10 saves in the loss.
The Badgers return to action tomorrow night when they take on the RMC Paladins in Kingston.
