
GUELPH, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team were swept 3-0 (25-15 25-20, 25-15) by the host Guelph Gryphons in the OUA Quarter Finals Saturday night on the road. With the loss, the Badgers finish the 2014-15 season with an 8-12 OUA and 12-13 overall record.
Leading the Badgers offense was
Renee Helmer who recorded eight kills and
Stacie Thomas who contributed with seven kills. Libero
Karlinna O'Leary registered 17 digs, while in her last career game as a Badger setter
Lauren Stirling finished with four kills, 22 assists and six digs.
Guelph was le by Madison Dedecker who registered 12 kills, 10 digs and a .423 hitting percentage. Nicole Collard and Rebecca Breau both chipped in with eigt kills each. Setter Katelyn Larson added 35 assists and 15 digs for the double-double while libero Kristen Almhjell finished with 15 digs in the victory.
For the match, Brock hit just .093 adding 29 kills with 19 rrors on 107 total attempts. The Gryphons had a .267 hitting efficiency registering 41 kills with 14 erors on 101 attempts.
Guelph will now host the OUA Final Four next weekend which will consists of Guelph, Western, Toronto and Ottawa.
