GUELPH - The Brock University women's hockey team dropped a tough 2-1 decision to the No. 4 ranked Guelph Gryphons Wednesday night on the road.
After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Guelph would take a 1-0 lead 1:26 into the second period as Claire Merrick and Sophie Rodenburg setup Sydney Davison for her third goal of the season.
With just over five minutes left in the second, Brock would even the game 1-1 on an unassisted powerplay goal from rookie

This game was a battle between the pipes, as two of the top goaltenders in the OUA in Brock's
Jensen Murphy (Kingston, ON) and Gryphons Valerie Lamenta kept it tied 1-1 until midway through the second overtime period.
2:25 into the second overtime period, Guelph's Mackenzie Wong found Karli Shell who put it past Murphu for the game winner.
Murphy registered 29 saves in the loss while Lamenta turned aside 28 of 29 shots she faced for the victory.
The Badgers are on the road against the York Lions on October 22nd before returning home for a four-game homestand at the Seymour-Hannah Centre against Nipissing (Oct 29), Laurentian (Oct 30), Queen's (Nov 4) and UOIT (Nov. 5).
