ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's hockey team defeated the No. 10 ranked Waterloo Warriors by a score of 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
The Badgers opened the scoring 12 minutes into the first period with a goal from rookie Kiana Tobio (Toronto, ON) assisted by
Isabella Triolo (Oakville, ON).
The Warriors struck first in the second period tying the game back up at 1.
Just a minute later, forward
Christina Ieradi (Maple, ON) answered for the Badgers with a beautiful feed from
Annie Berg (Beamsville, ON) to take a 2-1 lead. It was Ieradi's team leading eighth goal of the season.
The Badgers finished the game with a strong two goal third period.
Berg added her fifth goal of the season 7:23 into the period with assists going to
Melissa Hurrell (Caledon, ON) and
Brenna Murphy (Odessa, ON). An empty net goal from Berg, her sixth of the campaign, with two minutes remaining would put this game out of reach.

Jensen Murphy (Kingston, ON) records her sixth win of the season with an amazing 41 save performance.
The Badgers now have a big break but will return to action on January 7th as they take on the Laurier Golden Hawks on the road.
