OTTAWA - The No. 5 ranked Brock University men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the OUA regular season as they dropped an 80-68 decision to the No. 1 ranked Carleton Ravens Friday night on the road.

Johneil Simpson (Toronto, ON) finished with 18 points and four rebounds to lead the Badgers. Cassidy Ryan (Mississauga, ON) was also in double digits adding 13 points in the loss. Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, ON) played just 15 minutes registering a season low eight points and three boards.

Carleton had four players in double digits led by Kaza Kajami-Keane who collected 16 points and nine assists. Connor Wood added 15 points while Eddie Ekiyor and Marcus Anderson chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Carleton took advantage of the Badgers 15 turnovers answering with 27 points off turnovers to Brock's 13.

For the game, Brock shot 39.7% (23-for-58) from the field and just 27.8% (5-for-18) from beyond the arc and 65.4% (17-for-26) from the free throw line. The Ravens went 29-for-61 (47.5%) from the floor, 4-for-15 (26.7%) from long range and 69.2% (18-for-26) from the charity stripe.

The Badgers battle the No. 3 ranked Ottawa GeeGees Saturday night on the road.
