Box Score ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University women's volleyball team lost in four sets (25-15, 22-25, 25-13, 25-22) to the visiting Guelph Gryphons Saturday afternoon at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.

"I was pleased with the way we played today despite the outcome," said head coach Dale Ann Melnick. "Our young team competed very hard today against an always talented and scrappy Guelph squad."

Leading the Badgers was rookie Alanna Norris (Whitby, ON) finished with a team high 11 kills and 12 digs for the double. She also collected four aces. Maddie Brown (Scarborough, ON) and Tori Carroll (Walkerton, ON) combined for 14 kills, four block solos and seven block assists. Libero Karlinna O'Leary (Whitby, ON) added 21 digs in the match.

Guelph was led by Meghan Morelli and Nicole Collard who chipped in with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Setter Cayte Wilson registered the double-double adding 34 assists and 10 digs.

The Badgers hit 12.1% for the match collecting 39 kills with 22 errors on 141 attempts. The Gryphons had a 22.5% hitting percentage adding 49 kills with just 17 errors on 142 attempts.

The Badgers next home action is Sunday at 2pm when they host the Western Mustangs.
