GUELPH, ON - The Brock University women's volleyball opened 2017 with a 3-0 (22-25, 18-25, 14-25) loss to the Guelph Gryphons on the road Saturday afternoon.
With the loss Brock falls to 2-5 on the season, while Guelph wins the season series 2-0 and improves to 5-4.

Abby Jenkins (Cambridge, ON) collected seven kills and five digs to lead the Badgers.
Renee Helmer (Waterloo, ON) added six kills and 11 digs while
Tori Carroll (Walkerton, ON) finished with five kills and five block solos in the loss.
Guelph was led by Victoria Golebiowski who registered 13 kills and 10 digs for the double-double. Maddie Dedecker and Jessica Gormley both contributed with seven kills each in the victory.
For the match, Brock struggled offensively finishing with just a .019 hitting percentage adding 25 kills with 23 errors on 108 attempts. The Gryphons hit .172 registering 38 kills with 18 errors on 116 attempts.
The Badgers return to action Jan. 14 when they take on the Waterloo Warriors on the road.
