The Brock University women's lacrosse added one loss and one win on Sunday, September 17th. They dropped their first game to the Laurier Golden Hawks by the score of 10-6 and defeated the McMaster Marauders 12-6 in Game Two.
Versus Laurier, the Badgers trailed 4-2 at the half with goals coming from
Hannah-Brie Scott and
Olivia Langdon. The Golden Hawks led 10-2, before Brock's
Lindsey Highfield and
Emma Mete cut the lead to 10-4 with 8:54 minutes left.
Brittany Schwende and
Gillian Webster added one goal each in the last 4:30 minutes to finish the game with a hard fought loss of 10-6.
In their afternoon matchup, Brock rebounded with a strong game against the McMaster Marauders coming out on top with the 12-6 victory.
The Marauders opened the game with three straight goals.
Emma Mete scored the Badgers first goal with 15:48 minutes left in the first half. Brock responded in the second half with nine straight goals; turning around the lead to 10-3 with 14:08 left. The final score was 12-6 with Highfield leading the way with three goals and three assists. Mete finished by adding three goals and
Eryn Brown with two goals and one assist. Webster,
Ally Brown,
Shania Porter, and
Marianna Andrade each chipped in with one goal. CeCe Payne collected two assists to round out the scoring.
