The No. 10 ranked Brock University women's hockey team dropped a 6-2 decision to the Waterloo Warriors Saturday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
Waterloo opened the scoring 1:45 into the first period as Amy Barnard and Maryn Caragata setup Sarah Rettinger for her second goal of the season. Brock answered with back-to-back goals with markers from
Lisa Buratynski at 8:48 and
Christina Ieradi at 16:29 to take a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Warriors answered right back with two goals just a minute and a half apart from Emma Pye on the power play and Cynthia Cavanagh, to take a 3-2 lead.
Waterloo's offense continued to roll in the third as Jenna Hewitt-Kenda, Allison Hanson and Caragata all registered single goals for the 6-2 road victory.
In goal, Brock starter
Jensen Murphy recorded 40 saves in the loss. Waterloo's Stephanie Sluys collected 21 saves in the loss.
